Well we have had a very busy couple of months! We took part in the Harrogate Music Festival, winning the barbershop and Open Choir competitions with Distinction and then went on to Pontefract where we repeated our successes! The following week we were delighted to take part in the York Community Choir Festival at Joseph Rowntree which was good practice for us before we headed off to Spain. At the Spanish Barbershop Convention, three of our quartets took part in the international quartet competition alongside some top quartets and they all gave a very good performance. Then our chorus took part in the International chorus competition and waited nervously for the scores to be made available. We were absolutely thrilled to have scored 72.7% which is our best score EVER! We could hardly believe it, although we knew we had given a very good performance – we just realise how good!
Now we need to concentrate on our Learn to Sing in Harmony course and hope that we can attract some more ladies to join our wonderful chorus!
